Street Fight Zero Rules - Self Defense Tools 'Baseball Bat Flashlight'

What you see with the picture above is a heavy-duty aluminum flashlight shaped like a baseball bat, a tool used primarily for self defense. It comes with15-inch and 23-inch in length and equipped with a 3-watt LED bulb with various flashing modes.

Why I find this self defense tool to be unique is that it combines 2 self defense application tools into 1. The practicality of having a powerful flashlight for various situations and an easy to wield tool for hitting an aggressor. Another practicality behind it's size and shape. Certain countries where vehicles are banned to carry sticks or batons so with the tool above, it passed as a normal flashlight, and for its size drivers can easily placed it at the shoulder of their seat.

For first time self defense learners below are some videos to show how this 2-in-1 tool can be applied in a vehicle self defense scenario. Courtesy of youtube : -

Below is some tips from Krav Maga on how to be more alert when getting into your vehicle. Also another good place to have your Baseball Flashlight is to put it at the back of your car for easy access.

As seen in the above video Krav Maga specializes in self defense and the emphasis in getting out of a situation fast, particularly on situational awareness and knowing how to react when it occurs. Some basic examples such as,

Situational Awareness - to be alert of the environment and the people surrounding. Trained the eyes to look at people's hand positions or what they were holding and even body language of suspicious body language & postures.

Stress management - trained in high stress situations where real scenarios happened

Weapon Improvisation - trained to identify an improvise self-defense tools and use them as leverage.

Execute hard & fast - Krav Maga specializes in taking out aggressors hard and fast when all else fails, all the sole purpose to run away from the situations fast.

Self Defense Reviews - Essential informations for self defense

People tend to forget there are Senior Self defense as well

Learning is a process of repetition of reviews and revisions. You may have learn many new techniques from your Krav Maga or self defense Masters from a gym. However in a cognitive process of learning it is important to repeat the process by reviewing. A learning process consist of learning multiple point of views and adapting to your own understanding.

I highly encourage those who are already experts and are learning from experts to keep an open-mind of other disciplines and their methods, the more we learn the more well prepared we may become.

Those who are already interested feel free to skip the rest and click here to get started of learning essential techniques of self defense.

Below are some tips to consider when it comes down to any self-defense situations. Conscious or unconscious, prepared or unprepared scenarios.

Review of the video above:
1) Avoid & be aware of potential dangers & threats around you
2) Breath and stay calm. Put yourself in a calm state of mind
3) Communicating with confidence, but not hostile!
4) Don't make the situation any worst.
5) Environment & Exits
6) Fire! (although not limited, calling FIRE attracts more attention over the word help)
7) Get away! Always find an opportunity to get away.
8) Hit hard hit fast hit first. (when all else have failed)

His point No.8 may contradict point No.4 however we keep an open-mind where everyone have their own methods and ideas on how one should protect themselves. What is most important is to be aware of the possible options available because any emergency situations are always unpredictable, so sometimes situation may contradict what you've learnt and thats when his point No. 8 can be a life-safer when all else fails.  (its never the most effective solution but a valid solution when there are no other ways)

Krav Maga - Contact Combat

As I previously mentioned street fighting is one of all true core expressions of a human being. Emotions such as anger, hate, rage and above all else fear are all mixed into a 5 minute period that fully dictates ones actions. It is a completely different ball game from the rules and referees in a comfort of a competition.

Street Fighting have no rules, no rounds & time limits and most of all people are fighting with their LIFES at stake.

Once again Martial Arts are amazing in all shapes and forms, those who are well trained and for many years are blessed with an advantage to be able to defend themselves. However what about those who are never trained in any self-defense/martial arts before? How about the common citizens who knows nothing about throwing a fist at someone? What about if the victim is only a child? What can they do to quickly learn to defend themselves when needed?

Krav Maga - Contact Combat
One solution to that would be to learn a self defense system call Krav Maga

Krav Maga is a self defense system developed and trained officially by the Israeli Military & Defense Forces. It has been taught to hundreds of law enforcement agencies & and tens of thousands of normal civilians all over the world and are now one of the worlds most popular self defense system around.

Krav Maga is an advanced Israeli Self Defense System designed to give real solutions to any violent situations one may encounter. The effectiveness of this system is in part due to its simplicity and reliance on your already existing instincts.

Self Defense
Women & Children Friendly

Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, this reality-based system is designed to teach real self defense in the shortest possible time. Learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, and bearhugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. Most importantly it trains people to be comfortable to function during the stress and shock of a sudden, violent encounter.

Martial Arts - in Street Fight Situations

Now don't get me wrong, Martial Arts are fantastic. I personally am trained with a number of other various styles of Martial Arts of different cultures.  However often times we tend to see the one-sided patriotism and egos coming from practitioners believing their styles is stronger or better than others. Of course this is not the fault of the practitioners because it comes down to the history/origin of where the Martial Arts came from and for what purpose during that time. So early practitioners are trained through a specific teaching methods for their specific purposes. Some examples below...

Capoeira - developed to disguised as a dance and designed for the purpose to fight off Portuguese to liberate them-self from slavery
Muay Thai - developed to fight in wars and later become a ceremonial sports for money/fame/glory
Aikido - originated from the killing arts of Japanese Swordsmanship later developed into a non-aggressive art of peace philosophically for self defense.
Wushu - originated with many forms of kung-fu and due to schools rivalry back in history the teaching doctrines revolves around which martial arts school can get the most students by being the Best.

Shows that all Martial Arts styles are trained with various doctrines and philosophy in mind.

Aikido Founder, Morihei Ueshiba
So the question is how they fare in a Street Fight situation? It all depends on the instructors & their teaching methods. Many of the more contemporary schools teaches some self-defense techniques however its only a small portion of their curriculum until they are back to teaching horse-stance/ hitting lifeless targets.

In my opinion what Martial Arts Instructors failed to protect their students from danger is the fact that they maybe teaching some great techniques for self-defense, but they did not teach the importance & understanding the directness of the techniques to get the job done and (god forbid) the importance of running away for their LIFE. Too often people encountered in the situations where they have to THINK back what techniques to use.

Street Fights is not about Karate punches, Animal Wushu forms, or Tae Kwan Do flying kicks. Street Fights is all about pushing, hair pulling, gouging, biting, stabbing and smashing.

Self defense is not a step by step procedures of turning, twisting grabbing then punching, Self Defense is the idea of Self-Respect and instinctively project the intentions by moving without thinking and run for your life

Although different in conception but both share the most important idea.

THE CONCEPT OF SURVIVAL!

Street Fight Zero Rules

What is going through your head right now?
Imagine yourself were forced in to this situation right now, what are things that are going through your mind? What are the noises you hear in your head, was it the aggressor yelling and screaming? or was it drowned by the noises of your own thoughts? Can you think fast enough to handle such situation or are your legs shivering that you couldn't even move an inch? Who's faces are you seeing at that moment, was it the aggressor with the weapon? or was it the faces of your loved ones?

Those are floods of emotions and questions you will feel upon the split seconds of you realizing that your life is being threatened.
